have as their main aim their own sanctification
by means of the service of the poor and needy,
seeing Christ the RedeeMmer in them, living the
evangelical counsels and giving a repairing
sense to their lives» (art. 18º, Constitutions). |
«Celibate men or widowers who feel they are
called to live in community following the three
evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity and obedience» (Constitutions, art nº 35) «their
aim is living a particular vocation and devoting
themselves to God: priesthood, religious life,
apostolate, life of prayer, study and retreat» ( Ibid nº 36) . |

«This
section is formed by those couples united by the
Sacrament of Marriage who freely, in agreement
with their children, want to live a similar life
to that of the first Christians (cf.
Facts 4, 32). It is also constituted by
those people of legal age who freely choose the
kind of community life that is established in
these Constitutions and in the Regulation of
Internal Regime of this section»

They work to sustain
themselves and help the Foundation in its works
of mercy."

The Work of the Virgin of El Escorial performs
its non-profit charitable and social action
through the Foundation "Virgin of Sorrows".
Its aim is carrying out works of love and mercy
to help the poor, especially the people in the
old people's homes the Foundation has opened. In
this way we try to live the evangelic
commandment that every time we give anybody
something to eat or drink or we dress the naked
or we do good to our neighbor, we do it to the
Lord ( Mt 25, 34- 40).

The canonical and civil institutions established
due to Luz Amparo´s request are popularly known
as «The Work of the Virgin of El Escorial».
On June 14th 1994, the 13th anniversary of the apparitions, the former cardinal archbishop of Madrd, D. Ángel Suquía y Goicoechea established canonically the Public Association of Faithful «Repairers of Our Lady the Virgin of Sorrows» and the The Pious Foundation «Virgin of Sorrows» and he approved its Constitutions. the Public Association of Faithful Repairers is made up by three branches: Repairing Sisters (previously approved in May 14th 1993), Family Community and Vocational Community. |
